Howdy Everyone!

It’s your Conservation Ambassador, Oliver Smelt here! I just wanted to introduce myself to you all and let you know that this blog is a place where I will share all sorts of information about the “ We Are Greener Together” Campaign with you. Whether it’s information about upcoming events, the progress and success of our campaign or just some interesting facts about energy efficiency in general, you can find it all here!

A little bit about myself: I just finished off my second year of undergraduate studies in the Business Administration program at Wilfrid Laurier University and am currently on my first Co-op Work Term. I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the “We Are Greener Together” Campaign and be working towards establishing a more energy conscious, efficient and conserving community here in Ontario. As you’ve probably heard by now, a greener tomorrow is something that we should all be concerned about and is something that we should all be doing our best to help build.

Now I’m pretty sure that the majority of us Ontarians have done a thing or two already to try conserve electricity in our dwellings, so first I want to say: congratulations and keep it up! And if you haven’t done your part yet, take a look at the tips we’ve provided on our homepage for some great ideas on how to get started. But whether you’ve taken action already or not, the most important thing to know is that every little bit counts!

Did you know that replacing your standard incandescent light bulbs with more energy efficient CFLs (compact fluorescent lamps), could cut the electricity use by the lights in your home by 75%?!
