Happy July to everyone! Is anyone else dying in this insanely hot weather?? I must say, I was seriously considering booking a flight to Alaska a couple weeks ago to escape the heat, but I’m glad to say I refrained and decided to stick around. Now you ask, why am I glad that I stuck around in this sweltering oven?

The Greener Together Campaign is off to a strong start! Last week, we visited our first few buildings to provide Resident Education Kits. Shout outs to our friends at 300 and 325 Webb Drive and 3590 Kaneff Crescent in Mississauga; and 120 Colborne Street and 375 Buena Vista Avenue in Oshawa!

Hey you guys and gals, I’m going to touch on how to dispose of your CFLs when they burn out but before I do, I’m going to add a couple small notes that I missed out on in my previous post. Firstly, I forgot to include a major note on the health implications, or lack thereof, of mercury in CFLs.

For my second blog, I thought I’d stick on the topic of CFLs (compact fluorescent lamps). Not only do they cut your electricity usage on lighting by up to 75%, but they last 6 to 10 times longer than your regular incandescent bulb! This results in savings of $30 per bulb!
